The Search Engine that has Planted 50 MILLION Trees

Have you heard of Ecosia? This search engine uses advertisement revenue to fund the planting of trees worldwide, improving the livelihoods of farmers, providing ecosystem services, and benefitting wildlife. With Ecosia using the same databases as Google, your search results will be almost identical. And if you aren’t finding what you’re looking for, simply typing ‘Google’ into Ecosia and following the link will still contribute towards the planting of a tree.
On average it takes 45 searches to fund one tree, which quickly adds up. Between us we’ve contributed to over 2500 trees, simply by using this search engine.
If you’re feeling unproductive, you can plant trees worldwide by simply searching for random things, and clicking on adverts in Ecosia! Conservation from the comfort of your home.
Here at Untold Nature, we believe that aligning conservation goals with the everyday requirements of normal people is key to the success of preserving our Nature. Some people might not care about conservation, but that doesn’t have to mean they can’t contribute towards it.
Why not switch your search engine to Ecosia today at: https://www.ecosia.org .
You can also try secretly switching your family members over to Ecosia when they’re not looking. We doubt they’d notice the difference!
Photo on Display at RSPB Minsmere
We recently visited RSPB Minsmere in Suffolk, where we got to view the A Focus On Nature student wildlife photography competition exhibition, which was on display during August. We hope it inspired others to seek their own unique encounters with nature… and it helped that one of our own photographs was on display too!

Our image (centre) came second in the “Hidden Nature” category, placing behind the overall winner.
We love this image so much, it graces our site as the cover photo.
Next year’s exhibition will hopefully be at the Natural History Museum in London, so look out for that next August. If you’re a student and aspiring nature photographer, consider entering an image.
